On 13 February, LGCA participated in the event “Innovating the Territory: Opportunities in Horizon Europe – Cluster 6”, held in Milan and dedicated to the forthcoming Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026–2027 for the agro-food, bioeconomy and environmental sectors.
The event was organised by APRE- Agenzia Per la Promozione della Ricerca Europea, in collaboration with Innovhub SSI (APRE Regional Desk), and featured contributions from Danilo Porro, Italian representative in the Horizon Europe Cluster 6 Programme Committee, along with national experts of Cluster 6. The programme provided an overview of the main funding opportunities, participation rules and strategic priorities of the Cluster, as well as selected national and regional success stories.
LGCA took part in the event with the European project SYMBIO, presenting its experience in applied research, innovation and the valorisation of bio-based value chains, with a specific focus on industrial symbiosis in bio-based industrial ecosystems and the development of circular-by-design supply chains. Through SYMBIO, LGCA showcased tools and methodological approaches supporting European regional communities in building circular, bio-based business models, fully aligned with the objectives of Horizon Europe – Cluster 6 and the challenges of sustainable development.
During the afternoon session, participants also had the opportunity to attend bilateral meetings, by appointment, with experts from APRE and Innovhub SSI, allowing for in-depth discussions on funding schemes and project development.
The event represented an important opportunity to gain insights into future European funding opportunities and to strengthen collaboration and dialogue between research organisations, enterprises and local stakeholders, contributing to innovation-driven and sustainable territorial growth.
